This scheme of twelve dwellings was built on the site of a care home on the northern boundary of the Grade II Arboretum Park, and within a conservation area on the south side of Derby.

Working to a strict design brief set out by Derby City Council, these timber frame homes are arranged in a continuous terrace of two, three and four bedroom houses (one has been built to mobility standard).

Front gardens have been provided to overlook the Arboretum Park with pedestrian only access, and parking has been designed utilising a turning box at the end of a new road at the rear.  Materials and elevational treatments have been chosen to match the local historic context of 19th Century Victorian housing, using red facing brick, reconstituted stone window cills and heads, traditional blue brick splash courses and eaves and verge detailing, with slate effect roof tiling, and ground floor bay windows.

Generous front gardens and a wide pedestrian footpath running past the arboretum provide a harmonious and peaceful car-free setting for the main aspect of this development, screened by retained existing mature trees and a newly planted hedge boundary.
