Greyhound Bridge creates a dramatic modern landmark statement on the banks of the River Lune.  The design responds to its prominent location through an integrated design approach – a sculpted, layered façade combines playful modern forms creating deep shadows using contextual materials.

In a prominent location in Lancaster overlooking the river Lune and the historic quayside, the site has excellent pedestrian and cycle links to the City centre via the millennium bridge and is an ideal location for one and two bedroom apartments for rent.

The client and the local authority were keen to see a distinctive high quality development rather than just another block of apartments.

The design responds to this aspiration and the sensitive site through an integrated approach.  The provision of balconies which provides relief to the elevation, creates dramatic shadows when viewed from across the river.  The entrance is announced through the use of white render in contrast to the reconstituted stone which is contextual to the local sandstone.
