A contemporary intervention overlooking the Arboretum Park.  The project was constructed using Ra House (MMC) technology to provide a highly energy efficient shell.

This scheme of six dwellings was built across two brownfield sites in the Arboretum Conservation Area of Nottingham City Centre.

The proposals consisted of two distinct design approaches, one taking design influence from the traditional terraces and villas of the surrounding area, and the other being a contemporary intervention overlooking the adjacent Arboretum Park.

Both schemes were constructed using ‘Ra House’ (MMC) technology.  The contemporary scheme utilised a mix of materials including timber cladding and render, tied back into the local context with a red brick.  The monopitch design forms a focal point at the corner of Colville Street, and timber cladding to the first floor softens the view of the dwellings through the trees from the Arboretum.

The traditional terrace, situated round the corner from the contemporary scheme uses materials and elevational treatments to reflect with the local historic context of 19th Century Victorian housing.
